Westlake Ace Hardware to Open New Derby Store on August 20

Trenton Leiker named general manager.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (August 18, 2021) – Westlake Ace Hardware will soon open its seventh location in the Wichita, Kan. area. The store, located at 317 N. Rock Road, in Derby, Kan., is scheduled to officially open for business on Friday, August 20, 2021. A ceremonial “board cutting” and grand opening festivities will be held in September.

Trenton Leiker has been named general manager of the new Derby store. Leiker joined Westlake Ace in 2017 as an assistant manager in the retail hardware chain’s Hays, Kan. store. He was most recently the general manager of the Westlake Ace store in Andover, Kan.

In his spare time, Leiker enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons on many shared adventures. He said, “It’s an extraordinary opportunity and an honor to be joining the Derby community. “Board Cutting” and Grand Opening Celebrations

A ceremonial board cutting by Westlake Ace leadership and Derby officials will be held at the new 15,000 square foot store at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 24.

On Saturday, September 25, a grand opening celebration will include a grill demonstration. A “20% Off Storewide Grand Opening Sale” for all merchandise purchases will be held September 24-26.

The 16,600 sq. ft. Derby store will sell traditional hardware products such as lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing, and electrical supplies. It will also feature several specialty departments and store-within-a-store concepts, including:

The Garden Center will feature a full range of seasonal live goods, gardening supplies, and other outdoor living products.
The Backyard BBQ shop will feature a full range of grills and BBQ accessories from such leading brands as Weber, Traeger, and Big Green Egg.
The Outdoor Power Equipment department will sell a full range of gas-, electric-, and battery-powered blowers, chain saws, mowers, and string trimmers from manufacturers such as Stihl, EGO, Craftsman, and Toro.
The Tool Shop will feature power and hand tools from leading brands like Milwaukee, DeWalt, and Craftsman.
The Paint Studio will feature a wide range of paints and painting supplies from Benjamin Moore, Magnolia Home Paint by Joanna Gaines, Clark + Kensington, Purdy, and Kilz.
