Lee’s Summit Westlake Ace Hardware Officially Opens

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (February 12, 2024) – The new Westlake Ace Hardware in Lee’s Summit, Mo. will host grand opening events February 15-19. The weekend’s events will also be an opportunity for the Lee’s Summit community to meet Julia Manker, the new store’s general manager.

Located at 3511 S.W. Market Street (near the intersection of Highways 150 and 291), the 15,000 sq. ft. store features a wide range of products such as lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing, and electrical supplies. In addition to offering automotive key-cutting, car fob replacement, and propane tank exchange, the store will feature several specialty departments and store-within-a-store concepts, selling such leading brands as:

• Milwaukee, DeWalt, and Craftsman power tools
• Benjamin Moore and Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines paints
• Stihl, EGO, and Milwaukee outdoor power equipment
• Weber, Traeger, Big Green Egg, and Ooni grills and accessories
• Scotts lawn care products
• Hill’s Science Diet, Canidae, Vital Essentials and other pet brands
• Yeti coolers and accessories
• Nursery plants, flowers, and seasonal outdoor living supplies (coming spring 2024)

“Board Cutting” and Grand Opening Celebrations

A ceremonial board cutting by Westlake Ace leadership and local dignitaries will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 15. Refreshments will be served.

A Grand Opening Sale will be held Feb. 16-19, featuring 20 percent off most purchases. On Saturday, Feb. 17, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., the grand opening celebration event will include:

• Product demonstrations
• A sampling of Bravo Bravo Que sauce by Veterans Community Project and tours of a VCP “tiny home”
• Pet adoption with CritterHouseKC
• Free prize drawings
• Free kids’ activities
• Special treats

A veteran of the retail hardware and lumber industry, General Manager, Julia Manker joined Westlake Ace in 2017. She was most recently the general manager of the company’s Brookside location in Kansas City.

“I absolutely love what I do and look forward to coming to work every day,” says Manker. “Lee’s Summit is my home, and I am enjoying getting to know the community a little better.”

Manker is passionate about her family and spends as much time as possible with them. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hosting backyard house concerts, cheering on her beloved Indianapolis Colts, and crafting.

Westlake Ace currently operates two other stores in Lee’s Summit, located at 103 S. 291 Hwy. and 444 S.W. Ward Rd. With the opening of this third Lee’s Summit location, the company currently owns and operates 31 stores in the greater Kansas City metropolitan region.
