Westlake Ace Honored by The Salvation Army

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (April 22, 2022) – As we kick off the 10th anniversary of The Salvation Army Fan Drive, Westlake Ace Hardware was recently honored by The Salvation Army of Western Missouri and Kansas.

The Salvation Army’s Others Award was given to Westlake at their annual Civic Luncheon in our hometown of Kansas City. The annual award honors an organization that has exhibited extraordinary service on behalf of others. We are humbled by the honor.

Our partnership with The Salvation Army means a great deal to us. It speaks to who we are as a company and shows that the Helpful Promise extends far beyond the walls of our stores. It means making a positive impact on the lives of our friends, customers, and neighbors day in and day out.

Left to Right: Major Kelly Collins, divisional commander of The Salvation Army of Western Missouri and Kansas, presents The Others Award to Kris Lane (Westlake Ace store general manager) and Brian Barbee (Westlake Ace district manager). They were joined on stage by Mitch Holthus, play-by-play announcer for The Kansas City Chiefs and emcee of the Civic Luncheon.

Since its beginnings at a single Westlake Ace store in Hutchinson, Kansas, the Fan Drive has grown to 127 Westlake-owned stores across the nation. In the past 10 years, we have raised $650,000 to provide more than 46,000 box fans to those in need.

Mark your calendars for the 2022 Salvation Army Fan Drive, which will take place June 1-19.
