Westlake Ace Hardware to Open New Lee’s Summit Store

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 9, 2023) – Westlake Ace Hardware announced today it has signed an agreement to build a new store in south Lee’s Summit, Mo. – joining 25 other locations Westlake Ace currently owns in the Kansas City area. Westlake Ace currently operates two other stores in Lee’s Summit, located at 103 S. 291 Hwy. and 444 S.W. Ward Rd.

The new 15,000 sq. ft. building will feature 12,670 sq. ft. of retail space. It is being built on the northwest corner of Highways 291 and 150 (across from the Walmart Supercenter) in Lee’s Summit. Construction is scheduled to be completed in late 2023. A soft opening is tentatively planned for early 2024.

In addition to offering services such as key cutting and automotive key fob replacement, and propane tank exchange, the new Westlake Ace store will sell lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing, and electrical supplies. The location will also feature several specialty departments and store-within-a-store concepts, selling such brands as:

• The Backyard BBQ department will feature a full range of grills and BBQ accessories from such leading brands as Weber and Traeger.
• The Outdoor Power Equipment department will sell a full range of gas-, electric-, and battery-powered blowers, chain saws, mowers, and string trimmers from manufacturers such as Stihl, EGO, Craftsman, and Toro.
• The Paint Studio will feature a wide range of paints and painting supplies from Benjamin Moore, Magnolia Home, Clark + Kensington, Purdy, and Kilz.

In related news, the new Westlake Ace store in Liberty, Mo. will open in the summer of 2023. The store is being built in the Highland Plaza Shopping Center on the northwest corner of I-35 and Highway 291. When open, it will be the 25^th Westlake Ace location in the Kansas City metro area.
