My career in the retail industry began during summers in college, marking the first steps towards a long-lasting career. Starting with Home Depot, and later, DeFord Lumber in Duncanville, Texas, retail became my passion. Upon graduating from Texas A&M in 1991, I embarked on a new chapter in Austin, Texas, joining Breed & Company Hardware. Here, my hard work led to a promotion to General Manager after just two and a half years. For sixteen years, I have honed my leadership skills, by managing and motivating my team with my commitment to them and to our customers. My ability to connect with people, to understand their needs, and the ability to provide tailored solutions became my trademark. This people-centric approach proved invaluable when I made the move to H-E-B Grocery Company for the following ten years. However, my heart still resided with smaller-scale operations, and so I returned to Breed & Company in August 2021, taking on the role of General Manager once again. I’m a family man at heart. I cherish the time spent with my wife of over 30 years, our adult children, and my adorable two-year-old granddaughter. When I’m not working, you'll find me cooking on my Weber Performer, cheering on my beloved Texas A&M Aggies, or enjoying the English Premier League.
