How do I trim and cut my amaryllis?

As blooms begin to die, trim them to help keep the healthy blooms going for about a week longer. Once the blossoms have all died, you’ll want to cut off the entire stem at its base, just above the bulb (about two inches). Be sure not to injure the surrounding leaves. NOTE: You may see some sap seep when you cut the stem; this is normal.
